I am hoping someone here at SpiceWorks has a copy setting around, or entitlement to the download from IBM's website. I have inherited a server and storage that was from a vendor support hardware refresh. The servers all got wiped and I would like to re-purpose this equipment. They don't have the software I need, they were utilizing it in a linux environment, of course I am going to use it in a windows environment. Megaraid and other IBM software selections do not work.
I am running windows R2 bit. I have obtained a copy from an awesome guy on Experts Exchange. I am now trying to figure out what the default password would be for this model. Note: This step is not required, but it is recommended. The DS series is specifically designed to address the needs of the small and medium businesses. With many small business IT departments having one or a part-time administrator, and limited time to spend on data management, the DS series can be easily installed without extensive knowledge or effort.
The DS Storage Manager software was designed for easy implementation for an unseasoned administrator. The task-oriented management interface of the DS Storage Manager presents tasks to the administrator first, and then asks which object to perform the task on. The scalability of the DS series helps allow businesses to respond to their constantly changing storage environment.
By starting small, the DS series is designed to allow users to make additional investments in their infrastructure, only when their data growth necessitates it. The DS series capacity is increased by either adding hard disk drives or by expanding the configuration by adding EXP expansion units.
Both of these operations can be done without having to shut down the storage enclosure. This helps lessen impact to your environment and gives users control of their data storage as they expand capacity on an as-needed basis.
By performing the procedure yourself, you risk losing of the data in your array, or rendering your array inaccessible. Armed with the cable, and following the information from this link using infiniti as the password, I was able to reset the password, add the drives, and upgrade the firmware from 6.
