Spiderman edition ps3

Will you be strong enough to make a heroic choice before your quest for vengeance turns the city against you? Go anywhere at any time in a larger, dynamic, free-roaming New York City and get involved in whatever you want, whenever you want. Players decide how to proceed through the game and set their own goals. Should Spider-Man follow a plot twist, switch to an alternate storyline, fight off crime waves that threaten the city or explore vast interior and underground locations?

You decide. From towering skyscrapers to the vast new subterranean sewers and subways Spider-Man must patrol all of New York. Three criminal gangs and variety of Super Villains will be competing for your attention, taking hostages, stealing cars, harassing citizens, and creating havoc.

Will you be able to save everyone? Three vicious gangs have laid claim to the boroughs of New York and must be taken down. As Spider-Man brings these criminals to justice, the crime rate will drop in that section of town and city life will return to normal; if he doesn't, the streets will turn to chaos.

These super thugs won't go down without a fight though. Their advanced AI will surround Spider-Man, grapple him, call in reinforcements, and do everything they can to retake their territory. Redesigned from the ground up, the all-new combat system empowers players to perform suit-specific attacks and combo chains to defeat their enemies and complete challenges and missions.

It's easy, but it's also excruciatingly tedious. You beat those girls in a few exchanges, right? If you've read a Marvel comic book or watched the Spider-Man animated series of the '90s, you know the Kingpin. The undisputed king of organized crime, Wilson Fisk is a massive man who packs an equal amount of muscle. Coming into Spidey's tiff with baldy, I expected the battle to be a tough and Kingpin's health to deplete slowly as Pete wailed on him.

Sadly, I was right. I fought the Kingpin for an hour -- an hour of joyless reversing. It was six minute installments of Spider-Man standing in the middle of the room, the Kingpin attacking, Spidey dodging, and Spidey punching Fisk once in the face.

If I punched him more than once, I risked getting caught in a combo or running out of Spider-Reflexes and watching Fisk land a devastating attack. I played it safe and patiently countered the mountain of a man one slow, boring punch at a time. Now, if God's with you, you'll only have to duke it out with the Kingpin twice - you'll meet and wear him down, he'll deploy some thugs, you'll finish the job. However, God didn't exist Wednesday morning at a. I got Fisk down to his last legs in the second half of our boring battle, and the game froze.

The worst news? Kingpin isn't the exception when it comes to boss battles - they all suck. New Goblin? Run in circles while Harry shoots crap at you and then reverse his attack to win.

Let him rush you, reverse and win. Run in circles to dodge his laser, let him rush you, reverse and win. Don't fool yourself into thinking the bosses are the only drawback in Spider-Man 3.

The photo missions have Spider-Man standing in a populated park taking picture; most pedestrians don't react to battles in front of them; and let's not forget Mary Jane Thrill Rides in which you and MJ swing through the city collecting hearts that are floating in the midair.

Stan Lee must be rolling over in his bed of money. Verdict Before you grab your pitchforks, light your torches and head toward my office, Spider-Man fans need to know that I'm one of them.

I'm going to the midnight showing of Spider-Man 3. I played Spider-Man 2 like mad and loved it. I'm not some jerkstore reviewer who doesn't get what a Spider-Man game is supposed to be.

YES NO. In This Article. Spider-Man 3 allows players to experience the actions of heroic red-suited Spider-Man as well as his darker, more mysterious black-suited persona. Release Date. What did you think? Alright, so the thing that matters the most to most gamers when it comes to the Next-Gen consoles is the graphics. Well, to be honest, this game's graphics aren't a lot more impressive than Spider-Man 2's graphics back on the PS2.

The lighting is excellent as are the shadows while you swing around New York City, but as for game models, the environments and such, not a lot of improvement to be honest. The graphi cs are good, just not as good as I thought they would be, since this is a PS3 after all.

Alright, then there's the game-play. In Spider-Man 2, all you had to do was tap R2 and you can swing from skyscraper to skyscraper. This time, you have to hold R2. The swinging is also a tad bit slower this time around. For example, if you were swinging down a block in Spider-Man 2, it would take five seconds.

In this game, it would take ten or fifteen seconds. It's not a major deal, but it does annoy me. Attacks are a bit slower, too. You can also perform combo moves with the square and triangle buttons.

With bosses, if you've ever played God of War, it's like that. Once you get them weak enough, you'll tap a button to enter the sequence. You'll see Spider-Man moving towards the boss then a button will appear on-screen and you'll have to tap that button.

It can be pretty tough at times, but hey, I think it's cool. Sound, no complaints here. The music in the game is fitting for a Spider-Man game and the voices sound crisp and clear.

Now you may be thinking, should I buy this game? I say yes, sure. Buy the game. Overall, it's a very enjoyable game, but it DOES get very tough at times. But if you enjoyed Spider-Man 2 then you should enjoy Spider-Man 3. The game is a bit of a disappointment, seeing how it's not as good as I thought it would be, but overall, it's still an enjoyable game. With the limited edition, you get to play as the Goblin as well. That was a little change of pace, but still the same.

It comes with interviews, behind the scenes, and a movie poster. Read full review.
